Obituary

Roseanne Thibault, 95, of Burlington VT/Leesburg, Fla. passed away peacefully and joined the Lord on December 31st at Our Ladies of Providence in Winooski, VT.
Roseanne was born in Middlebury, VT on Sept 18, 1925 to Oliver and Mary (Shackett) Menard. She and her late husband Adrien Thibault were residents of Burlington since 1951.
Roseanne was one of the first females to hold a position of bank officer at the Chittenden Trust Company for nearly 30 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling, and attending her grandsons' events. She and Adrien were happy to have visited every state and having celebrated her 55th anniversary flying the Concorde to London.
She is survived by her daughter Sandra Gazo of Burlington/Leesburg, Florida; her grandchildren Raymond Lopes (Cari) of Burlington, James Lopes (Lisa) of Colchester, Matthew Gazo (Beth) of Colchester, and Timothy Gazo of Burlington; Eleven great grandchildren, Meaghan, Dennis, Mackenzee, Hayden, Andrew, Emily, and Sam Lopes; Leland, Louis, Isabella, and Silas Gazo. She had one great great grandson, Aaron Lopes. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, and two brother-in-laws: Andre Thibault (Gisele) and Richard Young. Roseanne was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Lopes, her two son-in-laws Gerald Dupont and Jeffrey Nickerson, her brother Robert Menard and sister Margaret (Charles) Thibault., and a very special foster son Robert Williams.
Roseanne was a devoted catholic and a member of St. Marks for 40 years. Over the years she shared her home with several people in need and enjoyed helping others. She and Adrien felt strongly about supporting their local community and had an unselfish dedication to youth activities in the New North End. One could often see them watching and assisting youth little leaguers and was a supporter and recognized contributor to Schifilliti Park, and Rice Memorial High School where they donated and built the baseball dugouts. They never missed a baseball game especially when their grandkids were involved.
Roseanne’s family would like to thank the wonderful staff from Our Ladies of Providence who were so kind and loving to Roseanne and helped us to say goodbye during these difficult times. Special thanks to the staff of Bayada Hospice for helping us get through those final weeks with love and dignity.
Due to Covid, there will be no calling hours. A private service will be held officiated by Father Dallas of St. Marks. A burial and celebration of her life will be held in the Spring.
In lieu of flowers, we invite you to contribute to the St. Marks Revitalization Campaign in memory of Adrien and Roseanne. We were so fortunate to have this woman pioneer in our lives. She will be greatly missed as she was a model for all of us and demonstrated hard work and success with honesty and integrity. Love you always and forever.
