Obituary for Robert Leo Peters
Robert Leo Peters, 92, of Colchester passed away peacefully on February 17, 2021. He was born on October 27, 1928 in Winooski, VT to the late Edward and Agnes (Fountaine) Peters. He married Gervaise Berteau at St. Stephen's Church in November of 1950, she predeceased him in 2006.
He proudly served his country in the US Army and VT Army Guard retiring after 34 years. During that time he served in both WWII and Vietnam. He was a member of the American Legion Post 91 and VFW John Ryan Post 1767. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Valerie and her husband Paul, grandchildren Carrie Holmes and Candice Callahan and husband Paul, great-grandchildren Madison King, Ethan King, Sydney Holmes, Aubrey Callahan, Wesley Callahan and Katie Callahan, great-great-grandchildren Harper Burns and Hudson Burns, brothers, sisters, many nieces and nephews and extended family.
Due to Covid-19 services will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so. Arrangements are entrusted to LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
