Michael Ralph Pidgeon Sr., 68, of Winooski, Vermont passed away peacefully on Monday, May 24th with his loving partner of 33 years, JoAnne Fish, by his side. Mike was born on April 21st, 1953, in Colchester, the son of Cleon J. and Theresa E. (Bissonnette) Pidgeon. Mike attended school in Winooski, graduating from Winooski High School in 1971.
Following graduation, Mike enlisted in the United States Army National Guard, serving for six years with one stateside deployment. Additionally, he was employed by the Saint Francis Xavier Parish and Rectory for more than 30 years. Mike was known by many and would give the shirt off his back for ANYONE! He enjoyed hanging out with friends, camping, bowling, hunting, fishing, horseshoe and playing pool.
Mike is survived by his five children, Michael Pidgeon Jr and his wife Meghan, Marcie Caulfield and her husband Rich, Stephenie Corron, David Corron Jr and his wife Maleana, and Stephen Corron; his three siblings Ann Viens and her husband Doug, Gerald and his wife Bonnie, and Linda; grandkids Sophia and Elizabeth Pidgeon and Corey Caulfield, and many nieces, nephews, and loved ones; especially his furry companion, Rosey. Besides his parents, Mike was predeceased by his uncles Robert and Roland "Sunny" Bissonnette and his wife Lou, and Aunt Norma, and his old, furry pal Buddy.
Visiting hours will be Tuesday morning, June 8th from 11 to 1pm at The LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St, Winooski, VT 05404, followed by a small service for all who wish to stay and attend. A private burial with immediate family members will be at the Saint Francis Xavier Cemetery in Winooski. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to the Saint Francis Xavier Church, located in Winooski.
