Obituary for Laura Mead (Willette)
On August 30th, 2021 Laura Mead, loving wife sister and daughter, died at age 56 at her home with her loving husband Rick by her side
Laura was born on Aug 2nd 1965 in Burlington VT to James and Eva (Landry) Willette. She attended Essex High School and graduated in 1983.
Laura had fierce passion for her family, she love spring flowers and loved her cats Peanut and Oreo. She also loved to bird-watch, and would search for a glimpse of a Cardinal for they reminded of things loved and lost.
She was a very good cook and loved spending time baking for family and friends. Laura was a loving wife to her husband of 30 years Rick Mead who she loved with all her heart, he was her rock for many pain filled years and her family will be forever grateful to him for his loyalty and love he showed her every day. Laura had very special relationships in her life of those she loved spending time with her cousins Dan, Stan, Tim, and Dolores. She truly enjoy her sister most of all spending time with her was true source of happiness for Laura.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, James Willett Sr, and her Brother Michael Willette. She is survived by her husband Rick Mead her mother Eva Willette her brother James Willette Jr, and Her sister and best friend Jeannie Jones, several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visiting hours will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday September 10, at LaVigne Funeral Home, 132 Main St, Winooski, VT. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday September 11 2021 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Winooski, Vermont at 11:00 AM, followed by a burial in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Burlington Vermont Humane Society
