Obituary for Jeffrey Louis Blondin

Jeffrey (Jeff) Louis Blondin passed away peacefully on November 7, 2020 after a long and
courageous battle with MDS. He was in the company of his family, as he always wanted to be.
Jeff was a lifelong Vermonter and longtime resident of Winooski. He graduated from Winooski
High School and after a short stint in Kentucky serving in the United States Army, he returned to
the Winooski area where he spent the remainder of his 60 years.
A mechanic by trade, Jeff was extremely gifted at the repair and construction of anything
mechanical or electrical. He worked for several local garages and was a long time employee of
DJ’s Tree Service. From automobiles to small engines, power tools to industrial cranes Jeff
could fix them all. He worked in this profession his entire life and was a master at his trade. His
incredible talents were also extended beyond his full time job to assisting his many friends and
family who were always grateful to have Jeff’s help. No task was too large or too small for Jeff.
If he couldn’t fix it, it wasn’t fixable.
In addition to his passion utilizing his mechanical skills, Jeff was an avid race fan. He enjoyed
large national NASCAR races, but even more so the smaller local races where he could attend
in person with his friends. Jeff made regular trips to local race tracks, often for multiple days,
where he relished tailgating with those he knew and those he met along the way. His idea of a
great vacation was spending time at the track in his camper surrounded by friends. Jeff had a
distinctive laugh and an infectious smile that were impossible to forget. You knew when he was
having a good time, because you were too.
When not working at his craft or enjoying time at the track, Jeff genuinely enjoyed spending time
with his family, often while playing cards. His competitive spirit would often shine through, but
always in a good natured way. The cackle of his laughter while he took your money playing skat
is a memory all will remember fondly. In his quiet times, Jeff enjoyed collecting trains and
creating elaborate villages and railways in his home. Yet another mechanical system Jeff
conquered and enjoyed sharing.
Jeff was predeceased by his mother Joan Blondin (Barcomb). He is survived by his father Paul
Blondin of Winooski, his brothers and sister; Mike Blondin, his wife Vicky, and their children Amy
and Logan Hotchkiss and Travis Blondin, Penny Morin and her son Nicholas Morin, Tim
Blondin, his wife Patty, and their children Danielle and Allison, John Blondin, his wife Susan,
and their children Madison and Jackson.
Visiting hours will be held on Fri. Nov, 13, 2020 from 3:00 - 7:00 pm at the LaVigne Funeral
Home in Winooski, with a short service beginning at 4:30 pm.
