Eugene Edward Hatin lll, of Burlington, passed away April 21st after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 4th 1957 to Rita Hatin (Milette) and Eugene Edward Hatin Jr.
Never seen without a smile on his face, Eugene "Gene" was known by many and loved by all. While he may have been perceived as a tough guy, raising hell at Battery Park in his youth, Gene was best known for his big heart, generosity, entrepreneurial spirit and his commitment to his family. He did everything in his power to assure his family was safe and well cared for. He was respected and admired for his success as a self made entrepreneur and the help he offered people along the way. In 2020, after many dedicated years to his work, he retired to Winter Garden, FL, his happy place. He loved the palm trees and the memories of vacations with his family.
He was predeceased by his father, Eugene E. Hatin Jr, in 1996, his brother and best friend, Gregory Hatin in 2008 and his son, Jamie in 1982. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Hatin, mother Rita Hatin, children Tiffany Hatin and partner Robert Anger, grandchildren Ava Jade Flint and Carter Weston Flint, daughter Brooke Elizabeth Hatin, sons Eugene Edward Hatin lV and Keanu Hayden, brothers Brian Hatin, Mark Hatin, Scott Hatin, Edward Hatin (wife Nancy Hatin), Randy Begins. and Jeff Begins (wife Carla). He leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews and god daughters Jennifer, Rebecca and Christine Hatin. Eugene said, in this world, he could never have chosen better sisters in law than the ones he had, who he considered his sisters; Donna Hatin, Deana Raymond and Charmaine Vincent. He also leaves behind many friends whom he considers family.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday May 7 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at LaVigne Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A Graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM at Fairview Cemetery in Essex Jct. on Saturday May 8.
