Obituary for Dorothy Lawrence

Dorothy Ann Lawrence of Winooski, Vermont, born November 5, 1962, passed away
peacefully on Wednesday August 25, surrounded by her loving family.

Devoted wife, mother and Memè, Dot is survived by her husband of 41 years, Steven Lawrence Sr.; her children Michelle and Jay Nachaczewski, Rebecca Lawrence, and Steve Lawrence Jr. and Ashley Berard; her grandchildren Corbin Lawrence, Joey Nachaczewski, Jayda Lawrence, Lucas Paris and Trey Demers.

One of Dot’s favorite pastimes was to go on motorcycle rides to events with her husband and friends. She also enjoyed knitting and sewing, bingo, camping and road trips. She loved spending time with family, especially during the holidays. Dot would often say to her husband, “Spend it Steve, you can’t take it with you.” Over the years, Dot has always been involved with her children and grandchildren's sports and activities. She held positions at Lane Press, Fletcher Allen Hospital, Burlington International Airport Security, Twincraft, Servicemaster, and also worked as a Crossing Guard for the Winooski School District. She was a Scout Leader and volunteered for Meals on Wheels.

She leaves behind siblings Christine George of Burlington, Linda George of Maine, Ray and Laurie George of Essex Junction; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws Toni Ann and Mike Medlar, Moe Dubois, Lisa and Joel Chicoine, Sandy and Rick Lecuyer, Robert Lawrence, and Harry Laughy; nieces and nephews April and Mike Beyor, Jamie and Jennifer Laughy,
Jessica Ploof, Jason Ploof, Emily LaFreniere, Nick George, Josh Medlar, Megan Medlar, Sam Lecuyer, Brandy and Don Garrison, Tyler and Ariel Lawrence, and many great nieces and nephews.

Dot was predeceased by her mother and father Melvina and Earl George, mother-in-law and father-in-law Sam and Mary Lawrence, sister Irene Laughy, sister-in-law Vicki Dubois, and nephew John Gempka. Dot will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, memè, sister, aunt and friend, compassionate towards family and friends, and always putting others first. She will be dearly missed. A mass will be held on December 7th, 2021 at 8:00 AM at St. Francis church in Winooski.
