Obituary

Brian Cunningham - Shelburne

Our beloved father, brother, and uncle has passed away onto his eternal life on Wednesday, February 10th, 2021.

Brian was our gentle giant, he loved being with his family, playing with all the children, and making everyone smile. He has taught many to swim, ride bikes, fish, and how to do his passion, install carpet and work on motors, to which he could fix anything.

Fond memories of camping at Grand Isle State Park and celebrating the Fourth of July are always remembered when thinking of Brian.

Brian started his career at H.P. Hood, working with his father, delivering milk at a young age before joining his brother Gary for 30 years as a carpenter.

Brian leaves behind his son, Brady, and wife, Emily Cunningham, to whom he lived with. His daughter Nicole and her husband Nick Broduer, their children Taysean, Emma, Noah and soon to be baby Lucas. His stepson Robert and wife Faith.

Brian also leaves behind his beloved siblings, Gary Cunningham and his children Kami, Darcy, and Mike. His brother Brad Cunningham and his children Erin, Apryl, Kyle and Alan. His sister Cindy and husband Bernard Carty, along with their children Cris, George and Tyler. His brother Stephen and wife Mary Cunningham, along with their children Nicholas, Shawn and Grace; and sister Vicki and husband Dana MacArthur, along with their children Kaitlin, Justin and Hannah. Brian also leaves behind his special sister in law Patricia Baker.

Brian's beloved wife Vicki, had predeceased him in 2005. His loving parents Eldred and Arlene and brother Bruce have also predeceased him.

There will be a viewing service held Wednesday February 17, 2021 between 5:00pm-7:00pm at LaVigne Funeral home in Winooski, VT. For those who do not feel comfortable attending due to Covid-19, we ask that you please say a prayer for Brian, and we will be holding a celebration of his life in the summer of 2021 (more information to come) for you to join and remember his fulfilling life with family and friends.

I was so sad to hear of Brian's passing but also relieved to know he is no longer struggling and in pain. I will always remember Brian as the one who gave me the biggest hug when he saw me at a gathering and was so glad to have been able to touch base with him. My heartfelt sympathies go out to his siblings and children. Rest in peace Brian.
