Bernard Arthur Pepin, 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 19, 2021. Bernie graduated from Burlington High School in 1961. He entered the United States Army in 1964 and proudly served his country in Vietnam from 1965-1967. After returning from Vietnam, he began working at IBM in 1967, where he worked until he retired in 1992.
Bernie was a man of many talents. A self-taught machinist, mechanic, and carpenter, he could often be found in his workshop creating beautiful woodworking pieces, or troubleshooting and repairing just about anything for friends and family. A perfectionist at heart, with an eye for details, he had a strong work ethic and took pride in a job well done; always wanting to create or improve something to make it better. Bernie also enjoyed hunting and trips to Maine, Arizona, and Hawaii.
Bernie was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Pepin Sr. and Marie Blanche (Trepanier) Pepin. He is survived by his wife of almost 56 years, Marie-Reine (Sirois) Pepin of Colchester; children Susan McCarthy, and husband Chris, Lisa Robtoy, and husband Jay, Michael Pepin, and wife Rachel; grandchildren: Erin, Garrett, Chloe, and Alex. He is also survived by a sister in Florida, and two Uncles; Gerald and his wife Mary, and Richard and his wife Sally, in addition to many cherished friends, including Mike Mazza whom he proudly considered a second son.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 1:30 PM on July 24, 2021, at Holy Cross Parish in Colchester. Internment will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Colchester. An outdoor reception will be held at the Pepin residence immediately following the service. 7/21/21, 10:49 AM
